A lose definition of a WAN would be a network that connects LANs across a broad area (100,000m+)
I think your network might be better labeled as a small CAN (Campus Area Network) because it connects more than one building but over a smaller distance.
thank you for that tidbit, that is what my network shall be called, a CAN
