nice weather

well, it is 12:22 AM EST here at my bat cave, and with it being about 60° f out side i decided to eat my dinner/midnight snack out here on the back deck, so far i have been out here about 45 minutes and it is really nice, i am even thinking about sleeping out here because it is so nice, i played a bit of WoW for the first part of being out here and now i am blogging by candle light, how peaceful. i would like to wish all my readers a nice thanksgiving with your families and friends. i plan on eating thanksgiving dinner at my grandparents on my moms side of the family (dads side of the family are jerks for the most part, so i will not be eating there) unfortunantly i have to work friday, but friday night is the lan party at sasha's so i will be going to that with my kick ass gaming machine (you can read about it a few posts ago) and then i have to worry about paying insurence and then buying everyone a christmas gift, which means i will have no money till after christmas, when i hope to get a ipod touch! setting out here makes me wish i had a tent and a few other midieval camping stuffs so that i could build a nice little fire and camp out middle-age style here on the farm.

well, i cant really make a blog post without updating you on my mental status. i think my brain is starting to loose its edge, i can feel it, i am not as sharp as i used to be, i am forgetting things that i should not be and i am having short term memory loss, the problem is i can feel this degresstion and it hurts knowing that i may be slipping to insanity.

now that you have the update on my conscience, let me update you on my sub-conscience, more specificly, dreams that i have been having of late. for the past 10 days i have been haunted by dreams of Katherine (my ex-girlfriend) and myself being together again. we have been broken up for 18 months now after having dated for 3 years. and i have not had a dream about her for at least a year now, and all of a sudden, i am being haunted by dreams of us as a couple, which has made me quite sad as of late, and i am at a cross-roads of what i should do, i could call her and tell her how i feel and risk rejection, or i could go on with my life and never say anything, the only problem is that i have never felt as happy as i did when i was with her, and i love her so much that i would give up everything for her, i would give up any and all fetishes i may have, i would change anything about myself to make her happy, i would even die for her, and i dont think that i would do all of that for any other person on the planet, there is just something about her that completes me, it is like a lock and a key, that is how happy she makes me, just being with her, or talking to her, it just brings out happiness that nothing else can. i dont know how to put it other than that.

trauma 2007

weekend update

i had to wok saturday so i worked all night from friday into saturday, did my work saturday and then came home, got settled in around here and then around 6 i went to sleep, i woke up at about 1 am technicly that being sunday morning, and i think, ok, i have had enough sleep, so i will stay up until sunday afternoon or evening and then go to bed and then work on monday. so its late saturday night, or early sunday morning, depending on how you look at it and i was talking to sunni, on of my friends who is often playing a RPG with a few other people, and i have wanted to join them for the past few months or so, well, i finally they are starting a new game, and i am invited to join them, so i am really, really excited about joining them to play this new game (they play almost every sunday, this being great timing because i am planning on being up until sunday afternoon or evening) so the last thing i can remember is it is about 6 am sunday morning, i am watching stardust, and then the next thing i can remember its 5pm on sunday, thats right, i fell asleep in my chair for almost 11 hours, there by missing the start of a new rpg and missing out on several months of fun. and i cant believe that i slept for almost 11 hours in my chair because it is not very comfy for sleeping in and i was so damn excited i dont know how i was able to sleep but yeah, again i fucked my self over on that one (that seems to be happening a lot lately)

new lcd

well, i got a new lcd screen today, the only thing about it is that the backlight is bad in it, so i took it apart and now i have just the lcd part of it, separated from the cathode so that i might use it for a projector, now all i need to find is a overhead projector like is found in classrooms around the world to use to amplify and illuminate the image so that i will have a projector that i can use to play games on and watch tv on! yay me.

motivation

mark my word that today is the last day that i will put hope in other people, the last day that i will expect someone to do something that is not for there own personal gain, and the last day i bother with other people. i should have known better than to expect people to be anything but just that, people, i should have know that no matter what, people are always out for them selves, even my friends are no exception to this. i should have know after this that no matter how nice people may seem, they will let you down, no matter what you ask of them, how easy or simple it may be, they will let you down. so dont ask me do do anything for you, from now on, i will be only looking out for myself, as that is what everyone else does. and dont put your hope in others, for they will only hurt you

well, today, i played html code monkey and i was able to embed a song into the header of my random image board on lolikun.org so i hid in the page the chocolate rain remix. also, on the front page i put a video clip from the movie breach, it is quite funny.

i am also sorry that i have been a little lax on updating my blog, i have been so busy with my website with updating code and revising code and tweaking setting.

i just love when someone says to me "oh yeah, no problem, you can count on me" only for them to stab me in the back.

and that is why there are very few people i trust, not counting the few family members i trust i can think of 2 people that i really trust, there may be people who i know and like, even am friends with, but as far as really trusting people i can only think of two. everyone else (other that the few i sort-of trust) i dont let in to my world there are a few people that i let into my world, a few that even come close to my brick wall, but i still havent found a person that i can let inside my brick wall of defence that i have put up around me to protect myself, and if i never find that one person that i can let in then i will go most, if not all of my life alone in a way, not being able to open up to anyone, constantly putting space around me, avoiding new things, staying in my own world. i am sure that there are people who have met me who dont like me, and people who think i am wicked, and i know myself, that i can be wicked and cruel at times, and it is because i dont like people to get close to me, and when someone does i do everything i can to turn the tables and get the spotlight off of me and put pressure on them. so, by this logic, i will inherit the earth...

web server problems

so, i come home today and here a horrid hum coming from my web server, the one that hosts loli-chan. upon investigation i find that it is the cooling fan in my hard drive cooler, so what do i do? i unplug the fan, there, problem solved.

so the hard drive may fail in the web server at some point. some point soon. probly in the next few days.

dont worry tho, i am working on configuring a backup so that i will be able to bring it back online within about a hour if i am here. if i am not here, it may take a few days, lol.

i am also still working on configuring my backup server to back up all the website files something like twice a day, and if we get to the point of more people posting i will up the backup rate as needed. so, feel free to post and lurk, as i am usually throwing pics on there that i find

well, i am working on setting up a mail server along with setting up a image board based on the wakaba code instead of the kareha code all of the boards are currently based on, i am hoping to get it set up to so that i can compare them, so that i can find which works better, depending on what they are able to do and not do. also, we are working on changing the home page so that we will be able to update the news on it from any corner of the globe. also, we have a few openings for moderators for individual boards, leave a comment and i will get in touch with you.

irish festival

so, sunday i went up to the irish festival with nathen, sunni, and peggy sue, we had a good time, got rained on, talked about phycic penises in the car, ate food, got rained on some more, watched weapon demonstrations and listend to some irish music. it was all and all a good fun day. i dident even plan on going until about 8am the day of! i got a message from nathen asking me if i wanted to go, i was all "sure, sounds like fun" and that was that. but yeah, i love to just up and do somthing, at the spure of the moment

big thanks to brandonamp for the new banner! i love it, and as many of you know, the old one has been a broken link for some time, so, i went to fire up photoshop to make a new one and photoshop was broken, so i talked brandonamp into making me one, i think he did a great job, big thanks to him for his time and leet photochop skillz

servers

well kids, set down and let me tell you about a reliable, altho old technology, this technology is called tape backups. basicly what it is is you put data onto a tape. the data is stored on this tape forever, or until you erase it, now, this technology has many benifits, such as massive data storage (some drives offer as much as 100gb or 200gb with 2:1 compression) and you can also take the tape off site, allowing for offsite storage, with out having to tote a hard drive with you or burn CD's.

i recently got one of these "tape drives" to use for backing up and storing data, along with offsite storage. and the software i found to run the drive allows you to backup network computers, so, that is what i use for all my backups

today is sysadmin appreciation day, and i appreciate all the things i do for my network, i am always working to improve it and maintain internet access for all my network users and myself, i think i do a really good job as a sysadmin, so everyone should leave me and brandonamp comments about how much you appreciate what we do to keep the networks up and running smothly

mac mini

my grandmas mac mini came today, i spent about 8-9 hours configuring, setting up and updating it, but she is happy, so am i

i am really happy because now my network is all macs, except for my gaming box and my moms dell notebook

and i dont think either of those will get replaced any time soon

tomarow i go up to devry to take my entrance exam, i know i will pass the test, i just need to get my but out of bed at 6am to meet brandon at walmart to ride up with him. i have a feeling that a lot of caffeine will be consumed tomarow... lol

hump day

today i met with a admissions adviser at devry, friday i go and take the entrance exam, i think me and brandonamp are going to truck up there together so it should be a fun day

oh god! i can see forever

so, today about all i did was sit around and play wow, i dident clean anything or even leave the house, i listened to a lot of bass with my new speakers and ate green ramen noodles for dinner

tomarow i get to meet with a admissions adviser at devry so, hopefully she will like me and i can apply for school, and if i get accepted i will be going to one of the best schools in the country for NSA (network system admin) (same degree as brandonamp is going for) so i am excited and cant wait to go

good vibrations

went to my grandparents storage unit auction this morning and i bought a unit with a pair of large floor speakers (each with a 15" in them) and a car box with 2 12" sony xplods in it, i just tried them out and all the speakers work very well, right now i am pumping the bass, and it is great.

i am really happy with them because they will be really nice for DJ-ing parties or whatever.

only problem is the car box will not fit in my truck, i guess i will just have to use them in my room, what ever will i do? i guess i will just have to pump the bass into mah room

thursday i went to the mall with nate and got 2 morter+pestles (one big one small)

friday, i ran a cable over to my grandmas so now my network is a small CAN (campus area network) because it connects 2 buildings together, the cable run was over 300' and had to be buried, it was about a 6 hour job

saturday i went to walmart with dave and got all the stuff i need to make caffeine jello shooters, i also got a new belkin router and installed it

i will post a review of my new router in a few days after i see how i like it

cooling power of fans

i found some old server rack cooling fans so i zip-tied 4 120mm square ones together in a line and i am going to wire them up so that it will be a really good window fan, they are 120v ac so i dont have to worry about a dc power supply to run them, you can see more pics here

zomg 80 gig

so, brandonamp and i went to worstbuy today looking for a 120gig laptop drive, they only had a 80 so brandonamp decided not to get it, so we went to lunch at red lobster and then he decided to get it, so we trucked back over to worstbuy and got the 80gig, and right now we are installing winblows on it, when we were at worstbuy we found some new products made by a company called rocket fish, so we were joking the whole time about rocket fish, also, on the way up there we were talking about driving a hummer and being enviromentaly friendly, like having you cake and eating it and losing weight, you just have to have a low calorie cake


so it has been a good day so far

lilyfest

oh man, i went to the lilyfest today, got to see some art and some pottery and lots of flowers

i also got to see some vikings and some fairies

the vikings were really cool, they had set up a camp there and where playing viking games and cooking food the way the vikings would have and showing off viking-era weapons such as swords and axes, along with typical armor, like chain mail and helmets, both leather and metal ones.

so yeah, it was a good day, altho the thunder storm we had blew out my grandparents satellite and my grandmas computer, so i am burning dvd's for my grandpa to watch and i am working on my grandmas computer, *sigh* a geeks work is never done

what am i doing up at 6 in the morning? well i went to bed at 8 last night so that is what i am doing, i think the plan for today is to first eat breakfast, then i will probly fire up wow and waste a few hours on there, and then i might eat lunch and then more wow and... you get the idea, altho at some point i need to talk with my mom about going to devry for there NSA program, see what she thinks mabey get some more info and get a application, i will probly need to pull my high school records and stuff so i have a lot of crap to do today, i will update at some point and tell you how things are going or went depending on when i decide to update again

today is friday the 6th of the 7th month of the year

cant sleep

it is now 6am eastern standard time and i cant sleep because my mom wants me to burn a dvd for her, no big deal, right?

wrong.

the problem is she wants me to burn a .avi video file to a dvd that will play in almost any dvd player, and the problem is, i use a mac, so for the past 5 hours my mac mini has been chewing on that damn 800mb .avi file trying to put it into imovie so i can burn it to a dvd and it will play, and the problem is that she needs it tomarow, well, it is tomarow so she needs it today, in a few hours, whatever. so i have been up all nite wishing i had spent the extra money for the faster of the 2 mac minis so that this would be done now, but nooooo. i had to be a cheap basterd. and i am getting really tired too

just woke up from a nap and i am contiuning the search for normality as i fight to get my macbook back just the way i want it

so far i have my chat clients working, i have my powermate installed and i have wow installed, all i need now are the updates for wow and then i will just have to find all the random programs i never use and configure all of the small settings

i would say i am 50% back to normal

6 hours after system meltdown

ok, so it has been about 6 hours since i fucked up my mac book and erased the hd.

i now have osX 10.5 aka leopard up and running and i have wow installed and am starting to get updates

i would say that i am at about 40% back to normal

if i had money i would be dangerous

wow, ok, so i am installing osX 10.5 on my macbook, and i say to myself "i will just install this on the partition that winblows is installed on, because i never use that on here" so i go to reformat that partition and boom, erased my whole drive.

and to top it off, my most recent backup is over a month old, so i am trying to get up and running again and wish that i had a recent backup

but the pure power of leopard makes me so happy that i cant help but smile
